What should you know when planning your Highland wedding?
In the planning stages of your wedding whilst still trying to decide where to hold it and what kind of day you would like it to be you will no doubt have many many questions. We've tried to answer some of them below but if you can't find an answer to what you're looking for then please do get in touch and we'll try to help.
Is the Highland Club licensed to host weddings?
The Highland Club is fully licensed to host civil, religious and humanist ceremonies, which can be held indoors in either
the Abbey Church Atrium or the Club Lounge, or outdoors in the grounds.
Is the Highland Club a hotel?
The Highland Club is not a hotel. It is a collection of privately owned apartments arranged throughout this unique and historical building that now makes up The Highland Club, and are set in communal grounds with access to facilities which are only available to residents or guests who are staying in an apartment at The Highland Club.
Is the Highland Club an exclusive hire venue?
The Highland Club is not an exclusive hire venue.
How much does it cost to hold a wedding at the Highland Club?
To hire The Highland Club for a wedding involving less than 20 people is £700 and for weddings involving more than 20 guests it is £1200.
Are there any other costs associated with holding a wedding at The Highland Club?
All weddings at the Highland Club are booked on a ‘dry hire basis’ so there is no corkage charge for any alcohol that you buy to supply and to serve to your guests.
A wedding day comes together with help from a number of different professionals, some of them essential such as a wedding planner, celebrant or registrar and others that you may choose depending on the dreams or vision you have for your day.
Some of those services may include (but are not limited to) photography/videography, marquee (with portaloo), catering, chairs/benches/tables, bar services, musician, flowers, decorations, cake, hair/make up and accommodation.
When can I hold my wedding at the Highland Club?
Weddings can take place on any date throughout the year subject to availability and excluding some bank holidays.
Where can I hold my wedding inside the Highland Club?
There are 2 rooms internally where a wedding can take place:
The Club Lounge has a maximum seated capacity of 20
The abbey Church Atrium has a maximum seated capacity of 80.
Does the Highland Club have it's own catering facilities?
The Highland Club does not have its own catering facilities and receptions often take place at local restaurants or through a private caterer in a marquee within the grounds.
Does the Highland Club provide wedding planning services?
Hiring the Highland Club is currently on a dry hire basis and does not include a wedding planner - please ensure that your preferred wedding planner is available for your chosen date.
Who can I use to plan my wedding?
At The Highland Club we do not have any preferred suppliers that you must use. All we ask is that your chosen wedding planner has sent us a copy of their Public Liability Insurance that we then forward to our insurance company to confirm that they are satisfied with the level of cover provided by them.
Do you have a list of people and companies who can help me plan my day?
As we are just opening up The Highland Club for weddings after putting them on hold as a result of the covid pandemic, we are currently in the process of reaching out to suppliers and collecting their insurance details.
We'd like to hold our wedding at the Highland Club, is there a special rate on any apartments that we book?
All apartments booked directly through this website using your unique wedding code will receive a discounted rate and have a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for them in their apartment!
