About the event
The Glenurquhart Highland Gathering & Games is a highlight of the Scottish Highland Games calendar. It brings together tradition, heritage, sport, and culture in a breathtaking setting by the shores of Loch Ness. Held annually on the fourth Saturday in August, it features thrilling heavyweight events like caber tossing and hammer throwing, alongside Highland dancing, piping, and competitive track events.
Glenurquhart Highland Games include the traditional events performed by the heavyweight athletes – throwing weights and hammers and tossing the caber. In addition, there is the Glen Challenge, hill race, track running for adults and children, solo piping and the very popular tug o’war.
A select number of trade stands will cater for your shopping needs.
ALL competitors should note that admission WILL be charged, unless they are in possession of an admission ticket.
