Whether you want an intimate wedding by the side of the loch, a private blessing in the Club Lounge or a grander affair in the Abbey Church Atrium of St Benedict’s Abbey, it would be our privilege to host you and to be a part of your special day. Photographs of the most important day in your life with both Loch Ness as a backdrop on the one hand and Fort Augustus Abbey on the other are sure to evoke happy memories for many years to come.

The Highland Club is fully licensed to host civil, religious and humanist ceremonies. Ceremonies can be held in either
the Abbey Church Atrium,
the Club Lounge or
the great outdoors.
​
After the wedding you may choose to dine in a local restaurant, have a private chef cook dinner for the 2 of you in the penthouse apartment, or hire a tipi, tent or marquee in which to dine and party with your loved ones. Whether you'd like a piper leading you to a champagne reception, a harpist playing as you walk down the aisle or a hog roast in a marquee, everything is possible at The Highland Club, with your wedding tailored to your personal preferences.

The Abbey Church Atrium
The Abbey Church Atrium (formerly the central chapel of the enormous Abbey Church) was originally designed by Pugin the Younger. The central chapel sits below the timber hammer head beams and has been restored into what is now referred to as The Abbey Church Atrium or Fort Augustus Abbey.
Equipped with under floor heating it is an ideal location for weddings and other events and can seat up to 80 guests for a wedding.

The Club Lounge
The Club Lounge has been beautifully restored with timber panelling and was formerly the monks Refectory. At one end you will find a pulpit jutting out from the wainscot where a chapter from the Holy Scriptures would be read during the monks meal, and at the other end three long Gothic stained glass windows.
This is the perfect place to hold an intimate wedding seating up to 20 people, or to have a champagne drinks reception before moving on to your marquee or restaurant for your celebratory meal.
The Cloister Gardens, The Monastery Lawn, or on the shores of Loch Ness
The Cloister Gardens is surrounded on all four sides by the cloisters and houses a giant chess set.
The Monastery Lawn commands amazing views over Loch Ness.

The waters edge where the River Tarf enters Loch Ness provides a quiet and secluded area.
Say your vows with a beautiful loch-side backdrop and the possibility of Nessie being a witness.

Marquee Locations
The Badminton Lawn is situated on The Old School Lawn to the right of the football pitch with the Caledonian Canal at one side and views of the Loch on another.
The Cricket Lawn faces the front of The Highland Club, next to the sweeping drive that curves around to the entrance gate.

If you are getting married elsewhere but would like to have some wedding photographs taken either on our grounds by Loch Ness at The Highland Club or within the building itself this can be arranged.

Weddings at The Highland Club - What you should know before booking your wedding

As our apartments are all on site your friends and family don't need to worry about assigning designated drivers as everyone can reach their apartments on foot.
​
All apartments booked directly through this website using your unique wedding code will have
a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for them in their apartment!
