Lovely village, pubs, eateries. Superb scenery one of the most beautiful area’s I’ve ever been too. So much to do and discover in the British Isles.

Our 2nd stay and it has been faultless both times. Such a great place with fantastic facilities and views. Already booked another visit later in the year. Thanks!

We stayed in the penthouse apartment. It was beautiful and the view…amazing.
Everything was lovely. I highly recommend staying at the Highland Club.
(Trustpilot, April 2019)

Peaceful setting in gorgeous location, apartment and building are beautiful.
Our apartment was spacious and great care has been taken to ensure the quality of the fixtures and fittings with beautiful crockery an extremely well stocked kitchen. The abbey has been restored with great sensitivity with wonderful architectural features such as the original cloisters, domed roofs, mosaic floors and stone arches, all this and a beautiful setting with a lovely pool, sauna and steam room. The only suggestions I would make is a small First Aid Kit in the apartment, oven gloves and Coasters for the table sivas not to mark it.

Thank you for the lovely stay 🙂
We stayed for 3 days at the Highland Club. The staff who met us at the club were super helpful and relaxed.
We enjoyed our time visiting all the wonderful attractions in the area.
If you are a history buff or just love the outdoors then this is a great location to visit.

Fantastic apartment. Fantastic service. We had an issue with a bath tap which was responded to very promptly.

Fort Augustus is a must.
One of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed. The appartment was super big and confortable.
Everything was great.

I probably need a few A4 papers to write about the things I like about this property.
We got the penthouse and it is totally elegant setup. It has a nice balcony that over looking Loch Ness.
There is also a separate cinema room that could be access via the balcony that equipped with a huge OLED TV and PS4 (my kids spent most of their time there while we are busy with cooking and other stuffs.
The penthouse is equipped with a traditional British oven that also keep the living / dining room warm throughout the winter night.

Incredible experience
I was honestly blown away by how extravagant my whole Highland Club experience was! First of all, our host Jacqui was a lovely lady who went through the finest details of explaining the history as well as the facilities & how to use them.
We took public transport to the club and so we were exhausted, but the apartment was super comfy, well catered & even had Alexa to set the mood.
The pool is spacious enough and we were never left bored or wondering what to do.
We went there for my mum’s birthday and she wasn’t disappointed! We also tried the boathouse restaurant nearby, also lovely atmosphere & fantastic food.
Overall 5 stars honestly.

Excellent apartment located right by the Loch Ness.
Spacious and confortable, plenty of towels and confortable beds. Ideal with children with a good playground on site and we had a garden with toys (and rabbits!).
The apartment was fully stocked with high quality appliances, kitchen tools, some games. Fresh milk, cereals, teas, coffees, a nice range of high-quality foodie gifts and even a bottle of wine were also available when we arrived which was a great surprise.

Beautiful building in a stunning setting. Very well equipped apartment with very thoughtful touches. The little details….fudge, popcorn and shortbread. The host went to extra lengths to provide me with a swim suit.

Cozy, clean & had everything we need
PRO: Out of all the places we stayed at in Scotland, The Highland Club was by far the best one. We had everything we needed during our stay. The welcome goodies was great – cereals, sweets, jams, water, milk. We were able to use the oil and condiments they have provided. We bought ingredients and meat at a grocery store nearby (walking distance) and cooked our own meal, mostly for dinner. The apartment we stayed at has a 2 in 1 washer / dryer. A printer was also available for us to use. Our explorer passes got wet from the rain, thank goodness for the printer, we were able to print them again. WiFi was very fast. The living room was very cozy and we had nice view of the abbey. Faux fur throws were also available for us to use when watching tv. The two bedrooms were clean and comfortable. There is ample space for the luggages. Bath robes were provided. There is abundant water and water doesn’t take time to get hot. There is a mat beside the door that is provided for wet boots / muddy shoes. Gordon is very friendly and helped us carry some of our stuffs. CON – the only downside is that the abbey doesn’t have a lift / elevator. We had a hard time carrying our luggage. But if you don’t mind the stairs then it shouldn’t be a problem.

Great Stay
The apartments are tremendous and fully equipped with everything that you need. The building is stunning as are the grounds and the wee swimming pool is great for the kids. Furthermore Julie could not have been more helpful on check in. Would definitely stay again.

(Trustpilot, September 2018)

This place is amazing, it’s not cheap but worth every penny. The building and gardens are beautiful, the position of the property couldn’t be better for the area and the scenery was outstanding. The apartments are stunning, the facilities are excellent and the staff were extremely polite, professional and friendly. Loved all the little touches like the box of fudge, bottle of wine, tea, coffee etc and hot chocolate (I don’t like tea or coffee), a bottle of milk and bottle of water in the fridge and they even provided breakfast cereal. We had an issue with our bed but responded within 15 minutes of me bringing this to their attention. The issue was resolved immediately and we even received another bottle of wine as an apology. Can’t recommend this place highly enough, well done Gordon and his staff.

Exquisite accommodation
Jackie was on hand swiftly with keys, then gave a personal tour of Abbey complex and accommodation itself.  All rooms and equipment  are impeccably kept.  Kitchen utensils for every whim. Would definitely love to stay again and so conveniently located to central Fort Augustus and Loch.
The Boathouse Restaurant next door is also superb and booking advisable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Highland Club–beautiful location and so convenient!
We enjoyed our stay at the Highland Club very much. The apartment was sparkling clean and the welcome package with wine, milk, cereals and snacks was much appreciated. We had an apartment with a terrace with a view out to Loch Ness. The apartment was nicely decorated and the kitchen well equipped. The washer/dryer was one unit and right in the kitchen. We did have a scheduling problem (on our end) with checking in, since we had afternoon tickets to the Jacobite Express. It would be best to book your train tickets for the morning or for an afternoon after you have checked in at the Highland Club. We were not able to take advantage of the pool or other activities since we were on the go all the time. The little town of Fort Augustus was so cute and just a few steps away. The apartment has many fire doors inside separating the rooms, this must have been a requirement for the building code in renovating the Abbey. It takes a little getting used to, but it was fine after a day or two. The unit was so spacious and having 2 bathrooms was a bonus for a family of 4 adults.
(Trustpilot, September 2018)

A wonderful place to stay for a completely Scottish experience!
We always carefully research places to stay when we travel and like to book outside the realm of the usual hotel. That’s why The Highland Club apartment was perfect for us. We received an hour-long tour of the facilities before being shown to our apartment, which was much larger than anticipated and thoughtfully equipped to a very high standard. There was even a bottle of wine and gourmet goodies for us to enjoy. We shopped for groceries at Fort William, on our way up from Glasgow. The Morrison’s there carries a full range of perishable and non-perishable items – certainly more than the small multi-purpose store in Fort Augustus. That said, we could have also managed very well shopping locally. We spent our four days and nights seeing the Highlands, riding the Jacobite Express, visiting the Isle of Skye and Inverness and places in between. The weather could have been a little less “Scottish’ but we are west coast Canadian and used to liquid sunshine. The only criticisms we would make are about the many, many, many stairs we had to climb to get to our flat, AC25 I believe, (a little warning may have helped) and the bed, which was not terribly comfortable and on the small side. There is certainly enough room for a king size bed. Everything else was to a very high standard and we would certainly recommend The Highland Club to our friends. In fact, we already have!
(Trustpilot, September 2018)

WOW Magic place
We came to this amazing place in the evening. We met like kings at the gate and then they showed us this amazing building and surroundings. It was absolutely magically beautiful at the Loch Ness and then went up to the apartment which was absolutely wonderful. Wow what a place!
(Trustpilot, August 2018)

Great location to do The Highlands from (AC17)
This place has a multitude of flats. Ours was AC17. A very modern flat in a very old building. Outstanding view from our bedroom. The grounds were full of things to see and do. Steps from Loch Ness, and the village area of Fort Augustus. Everything in the flat was of top quality and the goodies in the flat were very tasty. There was fruit, milk, candy, even cereal! We would stay here again, but would perhaps try a flat on the ground or 1st floors. Be warned – this flat is on the 4th floor – 54 steps to get to it, and there is NO LIFT!. Great for a family or younger people, but if you are older and out of shape, you might struggle.

A Paradise, Would Recommend
Some days in a paradiac place We have spent 5 days in this fantastic location! The whole family enjoyed it. We should come back sooner or later! We were there for our summer holidays through UK.

Dislikes? The twin beds in the second bed room were really narrow.

Absolute Outstanding Experience! After visiting many countries over many years with our children this was at the absolute top range of what we have experienced. The combination of a quite historic environment together with very luxurious space in the apartment and the absolute completeness of the kitchen equipment which was very clean provided for a very relaxed and memorable stay in Fort Augustus.

5 days in a Paradise
We have spent 5 days/4 nights in this fantastic place.
When we arrived our children thought to be in a location to visit…not in our “residence”! The welcome was perfect, the apartment superb: judge, clean, equipped with all the possible furniture…a spectacular view…what else? The common areas amazing too: the pool, the giant chessboard, the billiard room, the outside park with all the possible facilities. All the above just in front of the lake and 5 minutes walking from the village and the shops. It is just too far away form Italy, but we will come back! Thanks.

Fantastic 2 Night Stay in Highland Club Fort Augustus, Would Recommend
We arrived and were promptly met by Gordon who was very friendly and gave us an informative guided tour. We were then shown around our stunning apartment and encouraged to contact staff should we have any queries or questions. We spent the next couple of days enjoying our apartment, amenities and grounds including enjoying meal at the boathouse. We also spent time in Fort Augustus watching boats on the canal, going on boat trip on Loch Ness, eating out and a bit of shopping. Enjoyed our stay!!
Likes? Our amazing apartment in Abbey Church and starter pack lovely touch. The interior and grounds of Highland Club breath taking. The location to where there is things to see and do in Fort Augustus.
Dislikes? We have absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay.

Short break, first visit to the Highlands and we were pleasantly surprised. Highland Club Hotel was lovely and within easy reach of town. Locals were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return here in the near future.
Likes? Everything from how easy it was to find the hotel to how friendly everyone was. We were a party of 4 adults, two of whom were seniors citizens.
Dislikes? Not got anything negative to say.
(The Highland Club, July 2018)

Plan a long stay! The building, facilities, and apartment are amazing if you like living in an abbey that feels like a castle! We had a private courtyard to grill and enjoy the setting. Right on the shores of Loch Ness, there was always plenty to do. Everything was needed to entertain a family even if the weather was bad. Baking supplies and board games were all ready to go. A delicious welcome basket was provided for the family.
(Booking.com, July 2018)

Exceptional! Absolutely beautiful old Abbey and right on Loch Ness! The apartment is just lovely. It is spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. There was a welcome bag full of goodies awaiting us. There was also wine, milk, water, coffee and teas. We really could not have rented any better place to stay, it was absolutely perfect! We rented a car and were able to take very nice day trips. Highly recommend! We wished we had booked for a longer stay.
(Airbnb, July 2018)

Abbey Church 11 – They thought of everything! Staff were amazing! They thought of absolutely everything that made us feel comfortable in the apartment, right down to snacks and milk and wine! The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed several quiet evenings enjoying the lapping of the lake and watching the ducks and bunnies. The Boathouse Restaurant was wonderful as well. It was nice to have a water view and not have to drive anywhere for dinner. We truly had a perfect stay, wish it could have been longer!
(Booking.com, July 2018)

We came here with our Harry Potter obsessed children and it did not disappoint. Just 40 mins away from the Jacobite (Harry Potter) train, this place felt like a real-life “Hogwarts” right on the edge of Loch Ness. Good facilities and high quality accommodation. Only downside was that a lot of guests ignored the pool sign in sheet, so it got a bit crowded at times; might need a better system. Otherwise everything was perfect and we hope to return soon.

One of the best hotels in Scotland, high standard, extra friendly staff. Would Recommend

Wonderful for the kids with it’s swimming pools, playground, tennis, etc. The flat was very clean, has an amazing kitchen stocked with everything you’d need to cook with and our welcome from the hosts was super generous.” “Thank you so much for all the wonderful food and wine that you left for us. It truly helps being in the Highlands to have such a warm and friendly welcome, especially when the shops are closed upon arrival. 😉

The Highland Club is definitely one of Scotland’s best kept secrets. This year was our fourth visit in 5 years (we decided not to go when the pool was closed last year) and we will be booking next year’s trip in a few weeks time. The accommodation is excellent, finished to a high specification. Fantastic facilities, the new pool area and refurbished gym are brilliant. I love the fact that there is so much history in the building too. Ideal for couples or families alike. Where else would you get fabulous scenery, tennis court, gym, pool, sauna, steam room, table tennis, play area, snooker table etc
(Facebook, June 2018)

Stunning and unique
As soon as you drive through the gates of the highland club you realise that you’re somewhere very special. The views of Loch Ness are breathtaking and the Abbey itself is architecturally stunning. We stayed in a modern, spacious and beautifully furnished apartment stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The family loved the facilities on site especially the games room and swimming pool. I genuinely cannot think of a better, more unique and wonderful place to stay in Scotland and we’re all looking forward to going back next year!

Wonderful memories made at The Highland Club
The Highland Club is a wonderful destination. It’s location is fantastic for a stay at Loch Ness and as a base to explore this vast and beautiful part of Scotland. The local town just a few minutes walk away has a good mix of shops, eateries and pubs to explore and enjoy. The Boathouse restaurant is particularly lovely with great service and food. There is a Loch Ness Cruise company port just nearby which has just launched a brand new ship. The cruise was both a very informative history lesson of the Loch and a relaxing way to take in its beauty.
The property offers wonderful views of Loch Ness from its grounds and rooms, fabulous architecture to enjoy, a warm and hospitable environment thanks to its attentive staff, plenty of activities including a luxurious swimming pool with sauna and steam room, an adventure playground, tennis courts and beautifully appointed apartments to enjoy after a days adventure.
As a family of four with two young children, we found all the rooms very clean, spacious, safe, modern and welcoming with all the luxuries and amenities of home and more. The Highland Club has created a space and destination which is a truly luxurious escape where guests needs and comforts are the priority. Please see attached pictures of the destination we loved so much. I would highly recommend staying here, go on treat yourself.

Stunning location, excellent accommodation and amenities.
An amazing holiday with the family (all ages!). The accommodation is of very high quality, and the setting has to be seen to be believed. We had a brilliant time – everything you could need – restaurants and pubs in 5 mins walk, stunning grounds and things to do for all the family (football, tennis, croquet, garden chess, swimming pool, lounge area) and walks and bike rides from the door, plus lovely little stores, and a well-stocked grocery store.
We all thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Highland Club definitely has the wow factor! A beautiful building steeped in history, in an absolutely stunning location. We stayed in the Linse & were super impressed with how beautifully furnished & spacious this apartment was. My family of four arrived to a spotlessly clean apartment that offered amazing views over Loch Ness from both of the bedrooms & the living room. The kitchen/diner was beautiful & had everything we could possibly need or want. In addition we were welcomed with a bag full of goodies which included a choice of cereals, chocolates, biscuits, crackers & wine. The staff really went that extra mile to make our stay very special.
The on site swimming pool was fabulous & my young daughters particularly enjoyed the adventure playground & giant chess board. The entire grounds were beautifully kept & we really enjoyed dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant which also offered superb views over the Loch.
We had an amazing family holiday & can’t thank the staff enough for catering to our every need. We can’t wait to visit again.

Had a wonderful stay in a spacious, apartment with views over Loch Ness from lounge window. Perfect base from which to explore surrounding areas. Lots of outdoor activities available. Clean, quiet & well equipped for a very comfortable stay. The place has excellent amenities and breathtaking views.

Had a really wonderful & relaxing time.

Enjoyed a wonderful week in this imposing building in an ideal setting. Beautifully appointed apartment to return to after a day out exploring the area. Quiet and peaceful with lots of cycle paths and walks and other outdoor activities in the vicinity. If you are visiting the highlands this is the place to stay.

Stayed here as a family of four over Easter 2018 and it was just lovely. A great location. A warm welcome and show around the Abbey, a fab welcome pack with lots of goodies. The apartment (No 15) had absolutely everything we needed and more. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and spacious.
(Trustpilot, April 2018)

“We booked an entire flat during Easter 2018, four of us. Centrally located near the canal, this is a fantastic property for staying in when hiking around Fort Augustus. Full of amenities like a heated pool and loads of sports activities we were worried we might not leave the place and go on our hikes! Easy access to all major trails and hikes in the area. Great view of the loch and the Glen in all its glory in the back yard, topped with a well placed and a seperate privately owned Boatside restaurant which serves great food and beer. The flat itself was great, 2 bedroom, on onsuite bath, very clean and well maintained. The owners had left thoughtful items like a bag of food and drinks for visitors which was great to see. Julie was wonderful and even was accommodating to our early check in plan and always reachable. The only ‘problem’ that you might encounter is since the property is very old there are no elevators to the top floors, so you might want to check that first, but it wasn’t a problem for us. Would love to visit again soon!”.

We stayed at the Highland Club in the Fairlie for two nights during our trip through Scotland.
There is no describing how unique and beautiful this place is.
We traveled with two teens and they were thrilled with the pool, the buildings and the amenities.
This stay was a highlight of our trip. The one day we walked into St. Augustus was sunny and beautiful.
Not much open early in the spring, but also it wasn’t busy. We took a boat tour of Loch Ness, and had a quiet restful few days.
We had good communications with the property, the apartment was well equipped for our family and extremely clean and well appointed.
I would highly recommend this for travelers of any age.

Dislikes? We had not so many time.
(The Highland Club, March 2018)

We had a wonderful three night stay in top quality apartment. Everything about our stay was exceptional and definitely the best self catering place that we have stayed. Many extra touches that we did not expect. Can’t wait to go again. Fort Augustus is beautiful with lots of local walks. We had lovely meals in the village. Games of every sort provided at the club including snooker table tennis outdoor games and of course the lovely pool complex which we had to ourselves. Amazing.
(Trustpilot, March 2018)

Great place to stay, excellent facilities, lovely village and many things to do in the area. Would Recommend
We stayed 4 nights, it was a short family break. The apartment was lovely, with everything you could need, clean and tidy. We enjoyed the swimming pool. We didn’t use the other facilities (like gym), but more for lack of time/interest. The village is lovely and we have spent 4 days exploring the area (nevis range, Fort George, Loch Ness, Inverness…)
Likes? We enjoyed everything. The surrounding area is beautiful and the highland club is a really enjoyable place to stay. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
Dislikes? No, everything was good.

Fantastic Place, Would Recommend
From the moment I saw it online it looked amazing and I couldn’t believe it was in our price range, on arrival we were treated fantastically and shown around what was available before going to our apartment which I must say was far better than the photos showed, you could stay here a month and feel right at home, excellent location on the banks of Loch Ness
Likes? Everything, from the location, the welcome pack waiting for us, the staff, we didn’t need for anything
Dislikes? None

Second visit here – just fantastic. Great location. We will most definitely be back!
(Facebook, February 2018)

The apartment we booked was very well equipped for a self catering break. Surprised at the quality of the “welcome pack” including cereal, fruit, wine and a few other things. Also the coffee and tea supplies were of excellent quality, and there was cooking oil etc for use.

We had a truly relaxing time at the Highland Club over the Christmas and New Year holiday. Beautiful location, excellent apartment, fantastic facilities, including a wonderful swimming pool.
(Trustpilot, January 2018)

Absolutely stunning. Very quiet and peaceful with stunning views. Our break was made even better due to winning a five night break but we will definitely go again. Would not normally holiday at that time of year but the views around the area with lots of snow made the whole break magical.

Unforgettable Highlands Club
This place is a haven of beauty and peace. The Highlands Club is like no other, unique in its setting and admirable from the inside & out. The apartments are of very high quality with all your needs & luxuries. This is a place where you can be with nature by yourself, your family or a big group. The views are scenic & stunning and inspires allAlthough the apartments have the equipment and luxuries to cater for your needs the Boathouse restaurant serves delightful food.
The facilities are outstanding: giant chess board, tranquilizing swimming pool, complete with many more outdoor and indoor activities.
Thank you so much for the stay, we are sure to return soon.
(TripAdvisor, October 2017)

A special place, like no other.
We have been visiting the Former Abbey for around four years, we have seen many new apartments come online and we’ve now stayed in quite a few now. The Highland Club has a range of accommodation from charming little apartments for 2 people right up to accommodation which can take eight.
We as a family of 4 like to use Abbey Church 9, it is on the ground level and has easy access for offloading the car. It is also very close to the pool facilities, and as we have kids it also has a private garden with some outdoor toys and a bar-b-q. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king sized bed with a newly refurbished shower-room en-suite. Like most of the living areas in the Highland clubs rental its has an open kitchen, dining room and lounge area. The apartments are all very well kitted out. their are tennis courts, a football pitch, fishing rights, croquet and several other outdoor activities. the pool area is due open up again after being fully refurbished due to fie damage. The pool is amazing, you can look out the gothic arched windows to a view of the heather clad hills and mountains in the distance while you let all your stresses of everyday life just melt away. There is also a sauna and steam room and gymnasium too.
The rooms are very well appointed, modern but with a classic Scottish feel because of the carefully selected décor and furnishings.
You cant help but feel you are somewhere very special when staying at the Highland Club. Because of its history it filled with unique stonework and period features. The old cloisters are fantastic to wander around and from the outside it is simply breath taking, it is sometimes nick named Hogworts because of the setting. The views around the abbey are fantastic, there are plenty of walks in and around Fort Augustus, and the Caledonian canal locks are well worth a visit.
We love the Highland Club so much we decided to get married there in May. The venue had everything we could possible ask for and more . We booked around 15 apartments for friends and family. Each and everyone of our guests were taken aback by the sheer beauty of the location and the high standard of their accommodation. I know that many of them plan to return again in the future. The grounds are extensive and with them being on the southern banks of the world famous Loch Ness you have one of the best views in Bonnie Scotland right on your doorstep..
There is an onsite restaurant called the Boathouse, which has a spectacular view up the Loch. You can eat in or on a nice day have your food looking right up the length of the loch from their outside seating area. well worth a visit and the Nessie hotpot pie is worth a taste too.
You will not regret visiting the Highland Club, and I am sure if like us you will return time after time.

Beautiful former abbey. It’s a great location with beautiful views.

Great apartments in an enchanting location
Comfortable, modern, well-furnished apartments in a beautiful location, unlike anywhere else I have stayed in the UK. Being at the foot of Loch Ness, nestled amongst highland peaks made an ideal holiday for hiking, cycling, taking photographs and exploring the local villages. The apartments themselves were equipped with everything my friends and I needed to relax, cook meals together and get a comfortable sleep. When the weather was bad, we cut our hike short and spent an afternoon in the spa and pool area – a gorgeous place to put our feet up and unwind in. I would recommend the Highland Club to friends and families – there’s so much to explore in the surrounding Scottish countryside and plenty of comfort, games and entertainment at the apartments.
(Trustpilot, September 2017)

Can’t wait until our next visit to The Highland Club
This is our third visit to the Highland Club and we will come again! The setting is beautiful and the apartments exceptionally comfortable with the best fitted out kitchen – a home away from home. Fantastic outings by bike and on foot in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Every day was relaxing and enchanting.
(Trustpilot, September 2017)

Thoroughly enjoyable stay in stunning surroundings – apartment lovely and The Highland Club is just beautiful – the interior and grounds are delightful and well maintained and the location is great with pubs, restaurants, shops and outdoor activities all on your doorstep. The whole family had a great time. We will be back!
(Trustpilot, September 2017)

This place is beautiful. It was late September so our outdoor time was limited. Even with that we enjoyed the fresh air and lovely views of Lock Ness and the surrounding area. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
(Upfront Reviews, September 2017)

Beautiful Highland resort oozing Scottish charm.
Our family enjoyed a lovely short break at the Highland Club over Easter. The Highland Club has been tastefully converted, cleverly retaining the tranquillity of its monastic origins. We had the opportunity to look round several apartments and found them both stylish and welcoming. They are thoroughly modern and fully-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable break, each with its own individual look.
Being on the banks of Loch Ness, the Highland Club enjoys a stunning location, with magnificent views across the loch. While there is plenty to keep the whole family occupied without leaving the club, venture further afield and there are enough walks, castles, and distilleries to keep everybody busy. Overall a lovely resort, well worth visiting.

Vielen Dank!!!

We stayed here last. October it was fantastic beautiful view. Every day the lock looked different with the Autumn sun rises my daughter Kelly got engaged to Gary on the jetty at the lock would love to go back.

Lochside Paradise
This place is a true Highland paradise. Located on the shores of southern tip of Loch Ness, it is a magical place in itself, as well as the perfect base for exploring the Highlands. We stayed in an apartment on the top floor of the Monastery building with spectacular views all the way down the Loch. We will definitely be back.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

I was a bit dubious about staying in a converted monastery but glad we did. Converted to a very high standard with space to spread out and enjoy the well appointed apartment which had everything you need and more. Two bathrooms were an added bonus. Perfect location very convenient for exploring the highlands. Quiet site with stunning views across Loch Ness. Local boathouse restaurant was very nice too. Would I recommend yes and would I book again yes too.
(Upfront Reviews, September 2017)

Stunning a magical place
We stayed at the Highland Club recently for the fourth time since it opened for business. This place never ceases to captivate. From the moment you arrive and walk through the doors the Highland Club casts its spell on its guests. From the Hogwarts cloisters to the Club Lounge
The Highland Club is anything it’s guest wants it to be, retreat, base for exploring or cozy family holiday. The apartments are finished to the highest of standards and the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the Abbey and surrounding area. The excellent Boathouse resturant is a stonethrow away on the banks of Loch Ness, or if self catering is your thing the apartments are fully equiped.
I can’t recommend The Highland Club enough to anyone and can’t wait to go back again already!
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

Stunning surroundings, fabulous accommodation.
This place is stunning! – right on the edge of Loch Ness and the Highland Club building is beautiful – an amazing restoration with jaw dropping architecture and great facilities in the building and grounds and literally on your doorstep with hikes, cycling and places to eat and shop all in easy walking distance. All the family love it and we come back time after time. The apartments are really well equipped and all communication with staff at booking and when there really pleasant and easy. If I could buy one the apartments (I hear that some are for sale) I would !!! – perhaps a dream for future years.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

We’ll be back! – Stunning setting
This was our 4th visit to the Highland Club – we love it here.
The apartments are individually and beautifully furnished, immaculately clean with lovely views of either the Loch or the mountains.
The kitchen fully equipped so I was able to cook just as if I was at home, including making our morning smoothie!
We have cycled, walked and toured from The Highland Club which is in a perfect position to explore the beautiful Scottish countryside.
I would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

Enchanting resort
Stayed with the kids and grandparents. Something for all generations.
Lovely clean apartments with many good facilities to keep you entertained.
Absolutely stunning buildings that have been restored and refurbished with care. The gothic architecture gives the place that Hogwarts feel.
Good location with beautiful grounds but also a great base to go and see other parts of the country. So many highlights to our trip that it would take too long listing them all.
If you can though, do attend the weekly Celidh at the village hall as it’s so much fun. The locals provide a warm and welcoming environment.
Honestly can’t wait to go again!
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

Absolutely magical
The Highland Club is definitely one of those unique places which combines history with style, luxury and yet homeliness. From the driveway up until the forks in the apartments, everything is thought through to the absolute detail. I personally loved watching the rabbits on the Monk’s Lawn, and playing croquet there as you had the towering Abbey in the background and Loch Ness stretching out in front of you. There is definitely some form of magic at The Highland Club, one that allows you to easily dream of the Loch Ness Monster, but also one that transports you back to the history of the building. You can almost hear the monk’s steps and prayers through the cloisters, and see the redcoat patrols circling the Fort. To combine the history of such an outstanding location with their gorgeous apartments is something to be admired.
The Boathouse is also another gem of The Highland Club, with delicious food mere steps from the accommodation, which I loved. But I think my favourite thing is how The Highland Club blends itself into Fort Augustus. It is certainly a statement building, but the buildings and the grounds fit into the Scottish town without overwhelming it. It allows you to experience the Highlands and Scottish life with that touch of luxury.
I can’t wait to visit again, and hopefully the swimming pool will be complete which will just be the cherry on top of the cake as I tried feeling the water of Loch Ness and that’s just far too cold for me, despite the allure of swimming with Nessie!
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

Fantastic experience
We had a wonderful time staying here, a really excellent place which we are recommending to everyone. A must go.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

The Highland Club is in one of the most dreamy locations. The scenery, history, air, views, walks make this is a perfect to stay. We loved the boathouse, sitting there being right on the loch. The Abbey its self is a place to visit in its own right and has been beautifully restored. Will definitely visit again.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

A picture postcard perfect place with great facilities and comfortable plush accommodation. Great walks and nearby restaurants in Fort Augustus.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

Great for kids
Apartment was very clean and had all the amenities you require. You can also get a supermarket home delivery which is really helpful.
Location is stunnng but real strength is the long list of ‘to do’ sports for kids i.e. tennis, cricket, football, badminton, giant chess, table tennis, kids pool table, table football, archery (additional cost), boules, pétanque.
We’ll definitely go back.
(TripAdvisor, September 2017)

Beautiful place to stay, customer service was excellent, gave us plenty of information on things to do and places to see. Hopefully the pool has reopened the next time we head up Well worth a couple of night stay.
(Trustpilot, August 2017)

Absolutely beautiful and ideal for families with young children… they can play and run outside all they want. There is a small playground available, tennis court, and many other games. Village and restaurants are a few minutes walk.
(Upfront Reviews, August 2017)

A perfect location with very efficient staff who offer wonderful hospitality. Please keep it up.
(Trustpilot August 2017)

An amazing place for beautiful and relaxing vacation ! 👍👍👍
(Facebook, August 2017)

We stayed at the Highland Club for the second time, this time in one of the cottages. It was luxurious and spacious, just as we expected and even better. The Highland Club itself is the best holiday accomodation we know in Scotland. Perfect for hiking, relaxing, simply enjoying the time. The only downside this year was the pool complex which had been destroyed by a fire and so we were not able to use it. Will be fixed soon, so no problem in the future.
(Trustpilot, August 2017)

This apartment is really special, because it used to be near the ceiling of the old Abbey church and involves the upper parts of the church windows, which are round and parts of the ceiling are also round. It even seems bigger and nicer than on the photos. It is decorated very beautifully and very well equipped.
The park is wonderful and leads directly to the lake.
(Upfront Reviews, August 2017)

We’re just back from two fabulous and relaxing weeks at the Highland Club. Had a wonderful time and we surely will come back.
(Facebook, August 2017)

A fantastic place to stay. Clean, well kept and loved the attention to detail such as the provision of sports equipment in the apartment. Expensive but worth it for a treat.
(Trustpilot, August 2017)

Volle Punktzahl!!!! Familie Peter.
(August 2017)

The abbey is an enchanting, rare location, fort augustus is tidy village with esential services. my famil (my wife, our son 11yo and me) spent 1 week there, a lot of nice sights are in a 1-hour drive range, and also closer a plenty of trekking paths. Apartment is large, modern, confortable, with top equipment and facilities. Maybe the first time my family and I felt really at home away from home
just do not expect classic resort facilies like animation for children and all you can eat restaurant, and it was just fine for us.
(Trustpilot, August 2017)

Whether you decide to stay within the Club or visit the area I have appreciated to overnight in the Abbey appartement. Staff welcomed us and took time to present the Club and all the facilities with great details on the historical value of the Abbey and the Fort. For sure the place is one of the many reasons for which we will have a second venue to the Highlands.
(Trustpilot, August 2017)

Best Holiday accomodation in Scotland.
(Facebook, July 2017)

We recently enjoyed two weeks of travel throughout the U.K. We had booked a three night stay at The Highland Club about halfway through our trip, but immediately regretted that we were staying for such a short while! The grounds were impeccable and the apartment was so beautiful that we did not want to leave. Upon reflection, this was our favorite part of the entire holiday–and that is certainly saying something! We will definitely return for future holidays and will gladly recommend this property to everyone visiting the area.
(Trustpilot, June 2017)

A beautiful apartment and very well appointed. It is decorated to a very high standard with beautiful fixtures and fittings. The location is excellent but perhaps not suitable for elderly visitors due to the number of stairs leading up to it. With beautiful views over the loch, it was useful to have a table and chairs in the lounge in addition to the huge eight seater in the kitchen/dining area. The internal window overlooking the atrium is a lovely touch. The linen etc was comfortable and spotlessly clean ….The welcome pack we received was a lovely touch and most certainly the best one we have ever received. The Hogmanay complimentary celebration was fantastic with a great selection of nibbles provided. All in all, this is a stunning property and fantastic development and I would like to visit it again when the leisure facilities are back in use.
(Upfront Reviews, January 2017)

Really enjoyed our stay with Highland Club Direct! We thought the property was beautifully outfitted – love the stags everywhere – and was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, glasses etc. Very important as we were cooking Christmas dinner there! Very much enjoyed our stay and couldn’t recommend it enough! Absolutely perfect stay. Thought the communal areas were lots of fun, and the activities gave the place a real sense of community (especially loved the whisky tasting!)
(Upfront Reviews, January 2017)

Fantastic location, we had a great time even if the weather was against us all along. Next time in summer!

Amazing 5* Christmas and New Year holiday. This place is stunning with views to die for. There is so much to do. We came home today but I’ve left my heart there. Will most certainly be booking as soon as we get home. Thank you to the lovely staff and everyone in Fort Augustus who made this Christmas and new year the best ever.

Thank you for letting us stay in such an amazing building, the apartment was stunning and so big. Everything you could need was thought about and provided. The area was small but perfectly formed with gift shops, pubs and a little shop. We had a totally relaxing time.
(September 2016)

Booked for 5 nights Mon to Sat. We were impressed by the apartment size and the facilities at the complex. The onsite restaurant the Boathouse was very good and did some Turkish food as well as the usual fare which made a welcome change.
(September 2016)

Great time in an amazing place! Perfect location. The abbey looks beautiful and the location on the loch ness is amazing. In term of flat, everything was there to make you feel at home with all equipments. Also salt, pepper, oil were available which makes cooking easy when there for only few days. A lot of activities, games are available on the location. You can easily find ways to spend your time at the abbey and the park!

(Facebook, August 2016)

The apartment was a great place in a wonderful setting. The area of Fort Augustus was quaint and the apartment was nicely furnished. It met all of our needs and more! I would highly recommend it. Well worth the cost!
(June 2016)

Fantastic apartment for family vacation in Scotland. We can only recommend this apartment. Plenty of room. very nice bedrooms. one including bathroom (shower, bath tub). The kitchen seems to be still in the old part of the castle, whereas the other parts of the apartment are in the new building. The kitchen is lovely, including stove, oven, washing machine and dryer, microwave, … everything you need! Also, in the apartment there are badminton rackets and tennis rackets for the kids. The ones for the parents are not useful at all… but maybe they will be exchanged at some point. table tennis rackets are available at the table tennis itself, books and DVDs are available, all the other things you might need are also available… you don’t get bored at this place! and the reservation system for the pool only sounds strange, works pretty fine, though, and actually assures, that it is never crowded in the pool. there are bunnies all around the castle, which is nice for the kids….the restaurants are close… you could see the lake if there were no leaves on the trees… the supermarket close by is little, but sufficient. If you need more choice, you have to drive a little… There is a warm welcome when you arrive and just in case, that you do have a problem… Sue was extremely helpful. We really cannot complain about anything. We had two absolutely fantastic.
(June 2016)

We loved the accommodations, they were as expected. As a family we enjoyed the private pool time, the chess and the proximity to shopping, dinning and tours of Loch Ness. The views are exceptional! The staff is attentive and responsive. We really enjoyed the wild life on the grounds🐰🐰

Just returned from a 5 night stay in apartment. I would definitely recommend The Highland Club particularly with older children. It was a luxury little home in the huge abbey and grounds ( complete with dishwasher and washer / dryer ) and my 5 Year old loved the facilities and the games . He didn’t like the fact he was too young to play snooker 🙂
(September 2015)

Stunning Abbey, luxury and clean apartments, friendly staff and great views over Loch Ness. We couldn’t choose a better location for our wedding in the highlands and our honeymoon tour around. We’ll come back. It was great. Thank you very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Highland Club restored abbey in Fort Augustus. The location was excellent and accommodations superb. The 2 BR apt with fold-out couch fit our family of 5 perfectly, beds were comfortable, surrounding area beautiful, apartment nice and clean with all needed supplies. Our family enjoyed the pool, sauna and steam room, plus the grounds at the club. The only regret that we have is that we did not have more time to stay longer!

We had such a great time here! The flat is lovely and everything the pictures show it to be and my kids really enjoyed their room and being able to go outside to run some energy out. The proximity to many attractions within a short drive was so nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location on shores of Loch Ness – a really different setting for a west of Scotland holiday.

We have now been to the Highland Club twice in the last six months, firstly a week in Abbey Church 15, which was a stunning, well appointed apartment, and last week we took an apartment round the other side , over looking the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness, Old School 12, or also known as the Caledonian, this apartment had some wonderful original features. but the icing on the cake had to be the huge arched window in the main living area. my parents visited for a few nights throughout the week, and they were blown away by the whole Estate of the Highland Club..
There is no doubt we will return. when we finally left after or superb week , there was a few sniffles and hankies being produced as we departed through the automated gates.

Absolutely beautiful. Although it was fully booked it was very quiet and peaceful. Lovely apartments and had eveything we needed. Would definitely go again.
